Pudding Jagung with Fruit Cocktail

This recipe...., favorite dessert in our family. I knew this recipe since i was young and usually made it for my cousin when i stayed with his family in Singapore. I learned by myself after eating in Muar in 1986. I still remembered that.. Then cuba buat sendiri. Still remembered masa tu i was 18 years old.. (YA ALLAH.. i mudah nya masa tu..hee)  The first time, it was so funny. The pudding could not be eaten at all. It was so hard, bitter..Too much custard flour. Gradually i improvised it.. Then, now it becomes one of the favorite dessert in our family...

The ingredients

1 1/2 cup custard flour
1 1/2 tin of evaporated milk
1 1/2 small tin of condensed milk
sugar - more or less, it up to you
plain water
1 tin of cream style corn
How to make it ????

A. Pudding
1. Put the flour in the pot, then pour six cup of plain water.
2. Put the evaporated milk about half of the portion because the other half for the gravy.
3. While stirring, put in the condensed milk..also half of the portion.
4. If you like, you can put some sugar. It depends on you..
5. Lastly, put the cream corn before you cook it..
6. Use the small fire, and dont stop stirring until the pudding  becomes thicker. Beware..it will burn if you stop stirring.
7. Once u see the bubble, it shows that the pudding is already cooked.
8. Remove from fire, and pour into any 'acuan' you like...Atau guna yang kecil - kecil..
B. Gravy / Caramel
1. Put 6 cups of plain water.
2. Then put all the milk and stir it.
3. Add up another half cup of custard flour - to make the gravy bit thicker.
4. Put on the fire and stir well.
5. Then again, the gravy has its bubble to show its cook, then remove from fire.
How to serve...
1. Put everything in refrigerator including the fruit cocktail. Once they chill, you can serve it.
2. First put one slice of pudding in salad bowl.
3. Pour the gravy
4. To garnish it, put the fruit cocktail and the syrup..
5. You also can put one or two ice cube.
6. Now ready to eat.
Cuba..jangan tak cuba..

The home made roti canai...

Sambung cerita semalam, adunan yang telah dibahagi kan kecil - kecil tu dibiarkan semalaman.. So this morning, the chefs sudah bersedia menyediakan roti canai... Apa - apa pun meja pencanai MESTI bersih...
Tiba masa, small dough dicanai..Kalau traditional way, we use talam...Gunakan minyak dan butter yang banyak. Ini kes tak pandai tebarlah kan...
Simpul kan.. dan akhirnya jadi lah seperti di bawah ini...
Yang ini kalau kita nak buat roti sardin... Hiris nipis bawang besar, cili merah, telur, dan sardin..
Sardin tu mesti dihancurkan.
Kalau nak buat roti sardin, letakkan intinya di tengah - tengah.
Lipatkan adunan seperti di atas...
Bakarkan....
Ini yang kosong..

Orang kampung datang on May 26, 2010

Before my parents went back home yesterday, they already mentioned that Kak Zizah, Abang Kamal with family are coming to my house. They are my second cousins. Their second son is having a graduation day at ITM. Kak Zizah is really a good cook. My mom mentioned that she is bringing mee rebus to my house.

They reached at my house at 19.30pm..As usual, Chef Zura was preparing some dishes for our dinner. So we ate together. And means that big table again..I tried her mee rebus. No doubt, the mee was delicious.. Superb..We enjoyed our dinner.

Bus Station yang menyeksa pemandangan..

This morning my parents went back to kampung. They used the express bus, Transnasional. The bus station is located in Section 17, Shah Alam. The departure time was 09.15am. Unfortunately the bus was not on time. Usually it late for 10 to 15 minutes.. When we reached there, i saw garbage dump on the sidewalk.

Di situ lah biasanya passengers will board on the bus. I felt so pissed off..Bayangkan dengan orang yang sebegitu ramai, and the bus station is not really big.. So the view jadi worst. What do you think??? I noticed the dump was there since yesterday because i sent my father to buy the ticket here. Whose gonna be blamed???
The bus station is not really big..And yet the dump really make you sakit mata...
Camne kalau tourists berkunjung ke tempat kita? Tak ke malu...

Another trip to Sabak Bernam on May 22 - 23, 2010

After made a reservation almost two months ago at D'Muara Marine Resort in Sungai Haji Dorani, hari nya pun tiba..We booked four water chalet rooms which facing to the sea. Departed from our house at 13.25pm and met Nek Cik Yah and the group at Bukit Jelutong. With 2 MPVs we continued our journey. On the way, pantang ada tempat makan, sure we stopped...hee..tokey makan...
Stall buah berangan ini lah yang selalu kami singgah kalau balik kampung

First stop, nampak orang jual buah berangan, kami beli...bagi rezeki kat dia... One kg RM25, half of it, we gave to other MPV (the veteren with kiddos) ..Agak mahal gak..tapi kalau dah tekak nak makan, layan je.. Kalau dah sakit, tak leh nak makan...Hubby pun really like it..

Almost one and half hour journey, we stopped to buy some food at Warung Ibu.. Specialty nya adalah Nasi Ambeng and Soto..Unfortunately, nasi ambang nya almost finished, and some of the items not complete..Tak pe asalkan ada serunding..Itu penyedap rasa...But i really pissed off dengan the salesgirl tu, SOMBONG... itu lah masalah orang Malaysia kalau entertain customer....Geram aku...Tak patut betul. kalau yang datang tu tourists ke.. Orang Singapura ke, Brunei ke, tak ke malu kita...ATTITUDE orang kita, orang MALAYSIA...Susah nak cari ATTITUDE cam ni kat Bali..Mereka mengangkat customer/ tourist as a KING...eemmm
Malay kopitiam in Tanjung Karang
We reached Tanjung Karang almost 15.30pm and our stomachs were singing. Almost half an hour we had been searching the best 'port' to have our lunch..Bit difficult. Yelahhh.....Maunya yang boleh mengadap to the rice field.. Biar 'aman dan nyaman gitu sih'.....Memang telah tertulis, until we reached at one house, the big machine tengah nak reverse lah . The owner of the house pun keluar to see the machine. Pak Ngah pun terus menyapa tuan rumah..Then i followed him and asked weather we could have our late lunch at her back yard of her house..With her sweet smile, dia terus mengemas the back yard.. Means that she allowed us to have a view and also to have our lunch there...ALHAMDULLILAH..mm After introducing ourselves, we spread our tikar mengkuang, and opened our food..Perut dah mengelegak gitu...
Saujana mata memandang..
We asked tuah rumah, Mak Aji Bidayah and Pak Aji Mohd Saman to join us, she agreed and had our lunch together - gether..While having our lunch we could see the machine was harvesting the paddies.. So real, and yet it was so close to us....Sampai gak hajat kami..We felt so thankful to Pak Aji dan Mak Aji who allowed us to use their backyard to have our lunch..And they're so friendly..Even though some times it was quite hard to understand their slangs.. Orang Banjar...
We spreaded our tikar mengkuang and had our late lunch. Seronok pulak makan bersila dengan disulami bunyi mesin penuai.
The view from the back yard where we had our late lunch..So amazing that after berangan - angan, finally our dreams came true..Makan sambil menyaksikan sawah padi, malah nampak padi dituai lagi...We really enjoyed the moment. Mana nak dapat kat Holland kan Rah..heee..
The nasi ambeng which we bought at Warung Ibu di Tanjung Karang.

After almost one hour here, we continued our journey to the water chalets. we reached there at 18.00PM. Once entering the main road to the chalets you would see the long queue of stalls where you could find fish, food , and vegetables. Well once again, nampak je any food stalls, we liked to stop and of course beli makanan..heee..Itu lah keje kami..Apa - apa pun hati kami happy..Itu yang payah nak dibeli..

We checked in quite late..Yelah almost dusk, baru kami masuk..We took four rooms, 07 (Cik Eli, Cik Nadia, and Chef Zura), 09 (me, hubby, abang Luq, and Abang Irfan ), 10 (Tok Yayi, Nenek, and Abang 'Imran) and 12 (Nek Cik, To Pucu, Tok Ngah and Cik Eni,).Before maghrib ni we took a chance to take showers and took a little rest before going out for our dinner. But hubby tetiba lak nak kuar.. Nak cari umpan katanya.. Emm nak tak nak kena ikut..Kang majuk pulak kan...hee...

We were heading to the town and it just took only ten minutes there. Seronok juga because we noticed that the town was quite big..Ada uptown, banyak gak..The food stalls pun banyak..So we planned that after maghrib, kami akan keluar..

We went out for dinner quite late. It was almost 21.30pm..But some of us, tidak join..We ate at Medan Selera Sri Sarah.

The food here was not bad, and bertambah seronok lah kami pasal the owner menayangkan program reality - AF..We enjoyed our food sambil tengok TV..and the most important was, Syahir was the winner.Yeeehhhhhaaaaa.....
Kat jetty ni lah hubby, Abang Luq, Abang 'Imran, and Tok Ngah did their fishing.

We went back to the hotel at 11.30pm. Hubby decided to do the fishing. I asked Abang Luqman to join his father..Risau gak sesorang2 tu..I just stayed and felt so sleepy..Suddenly at 4.30am, aku terjaga and noticed that they were still not back yet..YA ALLAH..i tried tu find out..Rupa - rupa nya tengah memancing lagi..Emmm i continued my dream...
Early in the morning, so peaceful dawn....

We did not take our breakfast..Hubby took revenge tido sampai pukul 11.00am. Baru i tau rupa - rupanya ramai yang memancing semalam..We checked out from the hotel at 00.15pm.

Time to check out..Ada rezeki kami ke sini lagi..Entah - entah tambah bilik lagi.Plus dengan Pakman, Cik Ti, dan Cik Rah..INSYALLAH

So we just decided to have our early lunch..Ingat nak ke Warung Ibu on the way back..Unfortunately, it was fully booked. Tak sangka dalam kawasan kampung macam ni pun boleh crowded..Surely the food is good. Tak apa lah, tidak ada rezeki..

At last we reached at Kuala Selangor and decided to go to Pantimor - Malay restaurant. Apalagi, satu baris panjang for the whole family.Firstly, hubby went to the grill area and took four plates of grill fish. Ada ikan kembong and stingray. Itu adalah yang last..No more. Memang rezeki kami.ALHAMDULLILAH.. Thanks juga buat Nek Cik Yah kerana Nek Cik yang belanja our lunch..Thanks a lots atas rezeki yang dikongsi bersama - sama. Hidup kita jangan kedekut kan..hee... Rezeki awak, rezeki kami jugak...Mudah - mudahan murah rezeki, panjang umur, dan anda sekeluarga dijauhi segala penyakit..Nanti kita belanja awak pulak ye..

After lunch, we decided to go to my mother in law and pay a visit. Before that , we dropped by at the mosque to do our jamak prayer. Then we straight went to my MIL. But, again, we stopped at the food stall to buy some food like kuih, drink to bring to MIL's house. Yelah, bawak rezeki ke rumah orang sakit, lagi berkat nya.. Mudah - mudahan rezeki kita bertambah dan LEBIH - LEBIH DIBERKATI DAN DIRAHMATI...AMEEN.....We spent about fourty five minutes there and went to Remis Beach..Apa lagi to buy sea foodlah... Lokan lah, keranglah, remis, la la..segala macam telah dibeli oleh Chef Zura...

We reached home at almost 17.30pm. It was a great trip..Just to relax our mind and to have a family bonding..What a great time..INSYALAH ada rezeki, we are planning to go to Fraser Hill or Cameron      Highland..Tunggu kumpul duit dulu..
